GenKRU 2025: The Four-Night Revolution that Redefined Malaysian Concerts

It was the great ticket grab of 2025 as on May 3, 2025, 10:00 am the official ticket sales begun. As about 500,000 fans rushed to get their hand on the 11,000 seats, only 53 minutes later a sell-out was declared.
The first night of GenKRU’s grand return to the Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil was swept up whole by a tidal wave of devotion.
As the next batch of tickets became available on May 4, 2025 – 10:00 am, the second rush was even faster. This time it took only 45 minutes, which must have been a new record. Faster.
KRU themselves heard the cries for more concerts to be added to the Malaysian leg, adding May 10 and 11 as show dates. All 44,000 golden tickets across four nights were sold in record time. A historic first for any Malaysian artist. Tickets for the final two nights also sold out in under an hour.
Behind the scenes, a revolution was unfolding. Out of sight of the concert-goes, Contmark was tasked to ensure uninterrupted power supply for the events. Traditional concerts oftentimes rely on roaring, smoke-belching generators — necessary evils that drown out music and rattle bones. But GenKRU’s team refused to compromise on the delivery of an unparalleled experience.
Enter: Denyo’s diesel-powered, silent gensets. Running at only 50-70db operational noise (quieter than a roller coaster), they offer Military grade-like reliability with zero power spikes or failures.
The result? Pure. Unfiltered. Sonic perfection. Fans reported hearing nuances in vocals they’d never caught before. The bass didn’t just hit—it phased through souls. And not once did the lights flicker.
As a week to remember, it was
- The fastest sellout in Axiata Arena history (all four nights under an hour)
- The first Malaysian act to perform four consecutive arena shows*
- A diesel-powered revolution—proving infrastructure needed for concerts can be powerful and silent
